why are my survivors using noob weapons whe n they defend and how can i change it ?

Your survivors have two different load outs: offensive and defensive. Pull up your list of survivors, and you can find a little tab with a shield in it, right to the left of the red "X" to close the screen. The defensive load out will be what they'll use when zombies attack.
